Bank Holidays in Colombia (Puentes)

Save the date! Bank Holidays in ColombiaIf you’re from Europe or the States you’ll find bank holidays in Colombia to be incredibly frequent. This leads to a great deal of opportunities to travel and/or party (and a whole lot of traffic).

There are also events and festivals throughout the year to look for, and these can be found at our Colombian Events page. These bank holidays (Puentes) come thick and fast in certain times of the year, and you’ll find flights and hotels in Colombia will rise in price, and be very busy. If you’re planning on arriving during a Puente (and it’s well worth it, since the atmosphere is always great), be sure to make your arrangements well in advance so as to not miss out.

=> If you travel by bus near a bank holidays, go and book your tickets at least a day before. Turning up at the bus station on the day or evening starting a long weekend is not advised, you're likely to queue, wait for hours and pay more.
