Barranquilla Transportation

Barranquilla has a similar system than the one of the Transmilenio in Bogotá as well as mini-bus system.

If you are in Barranquilla for a few days, it's probably easier to stick to taxis. The city is not too congested and you can go pretty much anywhere for less than 7,000 pesos if you stay in a relatively central location.

Did you know?

Barranquilla's name comes from the canyons that existed in the sector adjacent to the Magdalena. During the Spanish colonization, the name "barranca" was common in coastal communities (Barranca Nueva, Barranca Vieja etc).
