Bogotá Hotels and Hostels

Bogotá has a lot of options for accommodation and the choice of your hotel will depend on what you want to get of the city.

You're a backpacker and you want to be with same minded people, go to La Candelaria: Hostel Masaya is a great upscale hostel, they have friendly staff and it is right in front of Chorro de Quevedo. Other good options include Hostel Sue or Anandayami Hotel.

=> La Candelaria is the main touristic spot of Bogota. It's safe during the day but you should be careful at night.

If you are unsure about what you want, go to Chapinero, the area is safe, it is in the middle of the city with fast access to La Candelaria and the centre, close to the night spot of La Zona Rossa, or to less know places like La Macarena. Hotels are a bit more expensive than La Candelaria: try Hotel Lourdes Plaza. For a cheaper option but closer to the Zona Rossa, head to Chapinero VIP, rooms are average but location is ideal and Antonio is a great host.

=> If you stay more than 2 nights, why not stay North of the city, it's really safe, there are less toursits and you get access to Zona Rossa, Usaquen, Parque 93.

Other options comfortable options are Hotel El Virrey in the center so with close access to La Candelaria or Hotel Virrey Park by the park El Virrey, a great location between Parque 93 and the Zona T. A more upscale option is the famous Boutique Hotel Casa Medina, a beautiful colonial building that should please your loved one.

If you need to stay in the North of Bogotá, after calle 100 or near calle 127, a great option is the upscale and traditional Estelar Fontana.
