Cali City Center Walk

Before hosting the under 20 football world cup, Cali decided to revamp its city center and the area around the La Ermita, Cali's most iconic building.

Avenida Colombia towards Church La ErmitaOur little walking tour below should not take you more than 2 hours and will give you a good overview of Cali city center including la Ermita,  Parque Jorge Isaacs, the Teatro Jorge Isaacs, the Plaza de Caicedo and the Cathedral de San Pedro.

First, get to the Iglesia de la Merced on Calle 7. The church is now the Cali Archelological Museum (recommended only for long-term visitors or people interested in the subject). Then get to Avenida Colombia along the river and walk up to La Ermita.

Bridge in Parque Jorge IsaacsOn the way, check the building of the Compania Colombiana de Tabaco. Once at La Ermita, go back onto Parque los Poetas and then head towards the city to see the Teatro Jorge Isaacs on the left. Keep walking in the same direction until you get to Cali main square also called Plaza de Caicedo where you can visit the Catedral de San Pedro.

=> You can stop your visit here or you can go back to Jorge Isaacs Park and get to the other side of the river where you can visit the Parque de Los Gatos. It is about 20 minutes walking.

Did you know?

Caleñas have the reputation to be the most beautiful girls of Colombia (which is not a small reputation to assume!)
They are a mix of white, black and natives origins who possess a particular talent for holding themselves and surely know how to move their hips!
