Minca

Minca's Entrance and Main ChurchMinca is a village of approximately 1000 people nested in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Although not a common tourist destination, it is well worth the detour. Its main attraction is the overwhelming nature that surrounds it and the different sports and activities you can enjoy there.

Your best choice is to hike the surrounding mountains, go bird watching or visit some of the numerous waterfalls and natural pools of the Minca and Gaira Rivers.

Minca's population is relatively new and began to arrive 10 years ago after a strong period of violence that displaced most of the families that used to live there. You will meet people from different parts of Colombia and the world attarcted by the beauty and the simplicity of the atmosphere.
