The jeep tour is one of the highlight of a stay in San Agustin. The jeep allows you to cover a lot of ground and you can see 6 different sites in about six hours.
The tour will take you to the following sites:
- El Estrecho of the Magdalena River, where you get a nice view of the river, there's a cute little statue of the Virgin Mary;
- The village of Obando and a small site with tombs and a museum;
- Alto de los Idolos and Alto de las Piedras;
- Salto de los Bordones (400m) and Salto de Mortino, 2 really amazing waterfalls.
=> Ask the driver to stop at the trapiche, this is where the sugar cane is processed, this was not included in the tour but came out as one of the best site to visit.
=> We travelled on top of the van, it was uncomfortable, a bit dangerous as you have to try avoiding tree branches along the road, but the view over the valleys from there was absolutely insane.

Price for the tour is 35,000 Pesos with a minimum of 6 people going. Lunch and entrances to the parks and Salto de Mortino are not included. We had lunch at the restaurant of Alto de los Idolos, typical Colombian almuerzo (lunch) at a very decent price.
