RESTAURANTS

Market Square Honda TolimaHonda is not a gourmet destination but with so many rivers around, you should sample one of the river fishes. If you're not too adventurous or don't like fishbones, stick to catfish (bagre). As the gateway to Tolima, Honda offers great tolimense food like tamales (a starchy dough, usually corn-based, filled with pork or chicken) ,or lechona (a roast pig stuffed with chickpeas).

A good and cheap option for lunch is to head to the market square (Plaza de Mercado) and try one of the stalls outside.

There are also some good local restaurants along the river, in a zone called El Carmen. Ask for the restaurants near "las orillas de rio". Expect topay 20,000 for a very large meal with one drink.

For something more sophisticated, you can try the Terracota Restaurant from the eponymous hotel, it is located in Puerto Bogota accross Andrade Bridge.

NIGHTLIFE
..........................................................................................................................................

Honda has a Zona Rosa that fills up a bit on Friday and Saturday. It is located uptown on Calle 9 near the Hospital San Juan de Dios. It's a 5 mins taxi ride from the historic center.

Have a few beers in the area and then head to the best nightclub in town Las Tecashttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tt1R1eqdAnI

If you're planning to go out and be in the Zona Rosa, you have to stop at Doña Gloria for some of the best empanadas in the country. Try as well the lechona or the morcilla (black pudding).
