Hostel Selva y Cafe Jardin AntioquiaThe only hostel in Jardín, a 5 minute walk from town. Expect a relaxed atmosphere, views of the surrounding nature and the offer of yoga classes (from 25,000 dorm, from 40,000 private room).

There are plenty of hotels in and around the plaza with reasonable rates for private rooms. If you plan to visit at the weekend expect to pay more: it’s also advised to book in advance.

Main Square Jardin AntioquiaCafé Europa
Calle 8 4-02 (Calle del Medio). Opened from Wednesday to Sunday.

A German owned restaurant offering quality and varied food at good prices. Italian pizza, pastas, chilli con carne and Spanish tortillas. Mains from 9,000 Pesos.

The area is known for trout fishing and you can find a number of ´Trucheras´ in Jardín where you can enjoy the local dish.  Ask one of the moto-taxis from the town square to take you.

NIGHTLIFE, BARS AND CLUBS

There are a few bars lining the main square and things get a bit more lively at the weekends when the Paisas from nearby Medellin are in town, but in general there are better places than Jardín to go to if you´re looking for wild nights!  Why not try your hand at Colombian ´3 ball pool´ in one of the local billiards bars?

GETTING THERE

Getting to Jardín is straightforward from Medellin. There are two bus companies offering the 3.5 hour journey for 17,000 pesos from Terminal Sur (located near El Poblado) - Transportes Suroeste Antioqueno or Rapido Ochoa. Services run every couple of hours.
