Medellín Bars and Clubs

Music, Bars, Clubs, Party in Medellín

As Colombia's 2nd biggest city and with the reputation of holding some of the most beautiful people in the country, going out in Medellín and experience "La Fiesta Paisa" is a must do to anybody visiting the vibrant city.

Parque Lleras in the area of El Poblado and Parque Lleras leads the way with many bars & restaurants and clubs like El Blue Medellín, B-Lounge or Babylon Disco. There are also a few venues grouped together along a section of Carrera 38 in Las Palmas, close to Poblado. With a lot of the hostels being based in this area it´s the prime spot for travellers looking for bars & clubs during their stay. However, if you really want to get to know Medellín´s nightlife there are plenty more options available.

There are also a few venues (including the bizarrely brilliant Dulce Jesus Mio) grouped together along a section of Carrera 38 in Las Palmas; an area close to Poblado that offers great views of the city.

For the reggaeton lovers (we´re sure there must be some?) head over to the Barrio Colombia area (near Industriales metro station) where you can find numerous bars and huge clubs such as Prizma.

Medellín is also a hot spot for Salsa. To know where to go which day, check our weekly salsa guide and reviews of the best places for salsa in Medellín.

For a more "local" experience, you head take your chance on some of the bars in Calle 33 (only at the weekend) or head towards the faculties where lie many cheap bars and cool places to dance.

For something more chic, vist the Mila de Oro and La Strada; a kind of mall where you will find clubs, bars and restaurants but most importantly, the most impressive concentration of jaw dropping women that you will probably ever see in your life...  You´ll find a similar scene a few minutes down the road at RioSur, where on the 7th floor there are a collection of trendy nightclubs such as Attic and Kukaramakura.

Since we´re so good to you here at Off2Colombia we´ve already done the hard work and put together a suggestion to help you plan your weekly social calendar during your stay in Medellin…

You´ll be hard pushed to find much “rumba” on a Monday, but those looking to start their own will find their best chance at the abundance of bars located in Parque Lleras in El Poblado where you´re always guaranteed to find people. A few shots in Chupitos should liven things up!

Tuesdays are all about dancing the night away to the salsa band at Eslabon Prendido in the grittier side of downtown Medellin.

For a more relaxed mid-week social we suggest checking out Café Zorba on a Wednesday night for live music and delicious pizzas.

Thursday your options start to open; head to the 3 Cordilleras brewery for a bar party with quality beer before finishing the night at Club Babylon´s open bar “ladies night”. Or rock out hard at Club Blue where entrance is free.

The start to the weekend always has Parque Lleras buzzing, but for Friday why not try mixing with the beautiful people in the bars and clubs of La Strada & RioSur, or throwing some moves at the clubs of Bario Colombia, the reggaeton capital of Medellin?

Saturday night is the perfect opportunity to go large and loose a few pesos at the crazy Paisa jamboree that is Dulce Jesus Mio in Las Palmas.

For those who don´t believe in a day of rest, Sunday belongs to Cuchitril where you will find a mix of alternative music and salsa on their ´Black Sunday´night.
