AIRPORTS AND GETTING AROUND
..........................................................................................................................................

If you arrive internationally you´ll be landing at the San Jose Maria Cordova International Airport, located in nearby Rionegro, 22 miles from Medellin and approximately a 45-minute drive from the city.

=> A taxi costs around 55,000 Pesos and takes between 1h and 1h30 minutes to get you to the center of Medellin. Your hotel can also organize someone to pick you up at the airport for almost the same price.

If you fly from within Colombia, especially Bogota, Satena (www.satena.com) flies to Olaya Herrera Airport whichis located in the city. It's definitly worth checking as you save a lot of time travelling to the airport near Rio Negro. Olaya Herrera airport is situated close to the South Terminal bus station, you can there use Medellín transportation system or take a taxi.

Medellin is a South American city that is refreshingly easy to get around. The Metro in Medellin is efficient but it is easier to go around in taxis.

=> We strongly recommend you to use verified taxis especially at night. Taxis can be ordered at any hotel or restaurant. If you speak Spanish, note these 2 numbers from reliable Taxi companies : Taxi Super (+57) (4) 5139700 or Tax Andaluz (+57) (4) 444 5555. When the taxi arrives, compare the Taxi number with the one given to you over the phone. Always carry small change, there's no need to tip.
