El Rancho de la Luna
If you are looking for a more private and quite experience, el Rancho de la Luna (The Moon Ranch) is an eco-friendly hostel that offers a healthy and healing experience with activities like yoga, reiki, massages, meditation… It has only two rooms, the food is vegetarian and they support the purchase of local and regional products.

In Minca you won’t find it easy to get to places via an address, your best option is to ask locals for directions to one of our recommended place. And don't worry, getting lost in a 500 people village is a relatively sedate experience.

Hola from La Sierra
This brand new restaurant is a great option for vegetarians and healthy people. They have good set menus. Some nights, they have live music, a good place to sip a couple of beers.
Prices: set menu with meat 11.000 COP / vegetarian set menu 9.000 COP. Main dishes are between 10.000 and 15.000 COP, a beer is 2,500 COP.

Casa D’ Antonio
Delicious Spanish food in front of one of the best spots of Minca: the viewpoint. They also have lodging in dorms.
Prices: between 17.000 and 25.000 pesos for a main dish with wine, beer from 2.500 (comes with a Spanish ‘tapa’).

Tienda Café de Minca
Located at the entrance of Minca, this coffee shop prepares tasty deserts, coffees and other light meals like sandwiches and crepes. You will also find handcrafts, organic chocolate and coffee from the area.

Minca is not the place for a wild night but if you’re visiting at the weekend, there are a couple of options for some Colombian ‘crossover’.

Gato Perezoso – Lazy Cat
This bar – restaurant is a great place for having some drinks while listening to good music and, if the night cheers up, enjoy a good party. They also prepare good appetizers and main dishes.

GETTING TO MINCA

Take a taxi from the Santa Marta airport or bus terminal and ask him to take you to the Minca Stop (Parador de Minca). There you will find cars that will drive you for 6.000 pesos in 45 minutes. You might have to wait a little bit for the car to fill.

You can also go to the Yucal neighborhood and take a “mototaxi” (a motorcycle that works like a taxi) for 5.000 pesos.
