Sante Fe, Oviedo & RioSur
Cr43, nearest station Aguacatala
The Mila de Oro, or “Golden Mile” is home to two of the largest shopping centers in South Medellin; if you can´t find what you want in an afternoon here then you really are hard to please! Sante Fe is a good place to start; the largest shopping centre in Medellin is also home to a three floor Falabella department store.
A couple of minutes down the road you´ll see the giant apple of Oviedo. Both Santa Fe and Oviedo offer a huge range of shops as well as multiscreen cinemas and food courts with plenty of options for dining. Opposite Oviedo you´ll find RioSur, a relatively new complex that contains a handful of shops, services, bars and space that is yet to be filled.
Monterrey
Cr48 #10-45, nearest station El Poblado
Technology! This is the place to go if you´re looking to get the best deals on computers and accessories. Monterrey is full of small shops offering a similar range of products and here it really pays to shop around. Prices are not fixed and if you put the time in you can really save yourself some money; bring a Colombian friend to help your negotiating power if your Spanish isn´t up to scratch!
´El Hueco´
Downtown, nearest station San Antonio
If you´re looking for some real bargin shopping downtown Medellin and the vibrant area known as ´El Hueco´ is your best bet. This group of streets around San Antonio station is where you can find shops and vendors selling cheap clothes (both authentic and counterfeit!), shoes, souvenirs, DVDs, etc. Prepare for some haggling in the hustle and bustle of this traditional and often crowded shopping district.
El Tesoro offers both upmarket shopping and great views of the city. The most beautiful shopping mall in Medellin is home to over 270 shops and is located up in the hills past El Poblado, near Las Palmas.
Mayorca
Calle 51 Sur No.48-57, nearest station Itagui
For outlet shopping and a great range of fashion stores Mayorca is a great option. The mall is actually connected to the Itagui metro station making it really easy to get to.
