An hour and a half from Zipaquira is Chinquinquira. Often known as the religious capital of Colombia, the place is home to one of the country’s most beautiful church, the ‘Basilica de Nuestra Señora Rosario’. It’s a huge structure that looms large over the village’s plaza. The cathedral is famed for its painting of ‘The Virgin Mary of the Rosary’, which was painted in the 16th Century.
