Crater Volcano PuracéNear the Pilimbala Ranger Station are accommodation options, including cabins ($25,000) and camping ($5,000). The cabins area a great option after a long day hiking to the top of the volcano.

There are basic options in the town of Puracé, more options in Coconuco thanks to its famous springs.

=> December and January are the busiest months of the year, you should book ahead especially if you want to stay in the cabana in the park.

GETTING THERE / OPENING TIMES / PRICES

Relax in the San Juan TermalesMost people arrive to Parque Nacional Puracé via bus from Popayan. The last bus leaves from the visitor center of the city at 17:00. Come prepared with blankets, it can be a cold ride. Bus from Popayan to Pilimbala are around 7,000 Pesos, buses to San Juan a bit more expensive at 9,000 Pesos.

The park is open all week, but Mondays are not the best day to arrive as services are usually reduced.

Entrance fees can be paid at Pilimbalá and the Termales de San Juan. Entrance to the Park is 18,000 Pesos for foreigners and 7,000 Pesos for nationals.
