Climate
San Agustin has a good climate with an average temperature of 18 °C. The rainy season is mainly in November/December and April, but that should not stop you.
=>As with most cities in Colombia outside of the coast, precipitations mainly happen in the afternoon, so an early start for any activity or visit is always a good option. We went there in November and the weather was not great but at least with rain, the rafting gets more interesting.
A short history
San Agustin was created as a village in 1752 by Spanish Alejo Astudillo. Attacks by indigenous people destroyed it and the present village was founded in 1790 by Lucas de Herazo and Mendigaña.
