Lago Calima

Lago Calima ColombiaThis artificial lake was built in 1965. It is located in the Valley of Rio Calima. It is famous for being one of the most windy places of South America, which makes it a fantastic spot for Windsurfers and Kitesurfers. This is also a popular gateway for Caleños looking for a bit of fresh air.

The Lago Calima sits at 1500m high and is about an hour from Cali. 
=> This is a well developed place, with 3 extreme sports schools, many boat company offering excursions...

On the Calima LakeThere are many activities to practice here:Windsurf, Kitesurf, jetski, you can also get a boat ride for less than 10,000 COP.

There is a village nearby "Calima El Darien"
where you can get food and accomodation. This is also a good start point for hikes, VTT or horsrides in the beautiful surrounding mountains.
