Bogotá is currently turning into one of the leading food destination in South America, not only for good Colombian cuisine but also for the growing number of international restaurants you can find there. French, Italian, Chinese and even some good pub food, you will be spoiled for choice when visiting the city.
Main neighboorhoods when it comes to good food in Bogotá are:
- The Zona G (Zona Gourmet) which hosts some of the best restaurants in Bogotá, all in the same block. For a healthy lunch head to Masa, for diner, enjoy some authentic Colombian cuisine at La Herencia. And if you feel like mixing with the rich and famous of Bogota, try your chance at Magnolio.
- La Macarena, just North of La Candelaria, is a bit more laid back than Zona G but still offers great restaurants and international cuisine including Arab, Peruvian, French, Italian, Serbian, Braziliian, Spanish... For something different, surround yourself with toys in the famnous La Jugueteria.
- Usaquén, North of Bogota, is also filled with wonderful restaurants. For organic food and some of the freshest ingredients in Bogotá, head to Abastos. For good value and nice portions, try the French restaurant Chez Jack. And for some English pub food, try the rightly named The Pub (there's also another one in Zona T).
- Chapinero and the Zona T have some great places including the new and delicious El Bandido Bistro or the the oldest chinese restaurant in town: Toywan. For something cheap and chearful, try the Spanish franchise "100 Montaditos", on wedesday, all tapas are $2,000 Pesos.

Another culinary gem we've found is Dona Elvira, fresh creole (criolla) cuisine, the most authentic Colombian food you can get in Bogotá. For the best views of the city, go to Tramonti in La Calera. For the unique party experience, the cooked to perfection meat and one of the best places in all of Colombia, head to Andres Carne de Res in Chia.
