The altitude, the cool climate, the modern appearance, you might not embrace Bogotà as you should in the first place. But give it some time, check the museums, the boroughs of Candelaria or Usaquén, the salt route outside the City and don't forget to keep some energy for a proper night out!

Located on the Plaza Bolivar, the Cathedral is well worth a visit. It is a good example of colonial religious architecture. It was rebuilt in 1807 - 1823. You can see a number of important paintings of the most known painter in colonial Colombia Gregorio Vasquez de Arce y Ceballos (1638-1711).

Monserrate is a mountain in the city of Bogota with a church on the top. The views are great. This is a must-visit location because of the awesome cable ride up the mountain, or the challenging stairway hike. The view is spectacular, romantic, and the church is beautiful as well as the artesanias that you can buy up there, and the food.
