Buritaca

Mouth of the Buritaca RiverBuritaca is a small beach town of the Caribbean Coast. It’s a nice place to spend a couple of nights, relax on the beach and enjoy some well prepared seafood.

The town is located close to the mouth of the Buritaca River in the Caribbean Sea, so you will enjoy both fresh and sea water while appreciating beautiful landscapes.

=> If you’re lucky to be there in a clear morning, don´t miss the opportunity to see the snow peaks of the Sierra Nevada from the tranquility of the beach.

Although they’re not many tourists, Buritaca is very organized and you can easily find what you need. People who offer touristic services distinguish themselves with a color. If you are looking for transport, look for those in yellow t-shirts; if you need a kayak, look for the ones in green and, in the restaurants area, people with a blue t-shirt will provide you with fruits and juices!

Kayaling at the Buritaca River

There is not much to do here besides relaxing on the beach, walk and enjoy the river.

A good option is to rent a kayak and go up the river while you discover the fauna and flora of the place listening to the sound of nature. You can rent them on the river shore and price depends on the time of use.

=> A good idea is to rent them for the day to visit and stay on one of the many beaches you can find near Buritaca.

There is also a handcraft fair where you can find all sort of traditional souvenirs and garments of the region.
