Market Day, SilviaThere is one proper hotel in town where tourists from Cali stay at the weekend.

Hotel de Turismo Comfandi
Prices start around 40,000 Pesos. A good option if you want comfort and a hot shower.
The hotel aslo has a restaurant and a disco called Tamakana.

There are also a few hostels in town. When facing the church on the main square, go uphill on the left towards the Iglesia de Belen, there are 2 hsotels there. The places are rustic to say the least. Single rooms from $15,000.

Another option is Cabañas Tipicas de Silvia, Carrera 3B Nº 1-12.

Guambiano Woman in SilviaThere are a few places to get almuerzos on the main square but nothing fancy.

You can also try the restaurant at Hotel Comfandi or get a breakfast at the bakery on the main square or Andres Panaderia just on the right before the walk to the Iglesia de Belen, the church overlooking the city.

GETTING THERE
..........................................................................................................................................

Silvia near Iglesia de BelenSilvia is 1h15min from Popayan by bus (the roads are very windy). The bus should cost around $7,000. There are buses around every hour, more on Tuesdays.

=> To go there, take a seat on the right of the bus to catch the best view of the surrounding mountains.

From Cali, you must first get to Piendamo and then take another vehicle that will take 2 and a half hours and cost roughly $10,000.
