EATING AND RESTAURANTS
..........................................................................................................................................

Main Square ZapaquiraThere are many dining options in Zipaquira, and in the main plaza most of them are good. Rather than list the whole lot, we recommend you explore the plaza yourself and see what takes your fancy.

One cheap option is :

Restaurante Sabor Leña
Though one of many in a string of typical Colombian restaurants, Sabor Leña is one of the best and retains the cheap prices locals and travelers love.
Cll 1 # 7 -12

For something a bit more excentric, why don't you treat yourself to some German food in the beer garden of Edelweiss!

Edelweiss
Great German food, amazing beers. Main courses from 15,000 pesos.
It is slightly outside of town but the food and the place are worth the efforts.
Km 1 via Cajica, Zipaquira

Or on your way back to Bogota, head to one of the best restaurant disco in Colombia, Andres Carnes de Res in Chia.

NIGHTLIFE, BARS AND CLUBS
..........................................................................................................................................

Zipaquira is dotted with many cafes and bars where you can enjoy a beer. For a late night, you need to be there on the weekend.

GETTING THERE
..........................................................................................................................................

Main Square ZipaquiraFrequent buses run from Portal Norte ($3,000-$4,000) in Bogotá and take roughly an hour, but could be up to 90 minutes if there's heavy traffic. Get to Portal del Norte by either Transmilenio or Taxi.

Alternatively you can take the more scenic but more expensive ($38,000) train that runs from Usaquen to the Sabana Station. Trains only run during the weekend, the first train on Saturday morning leaves Bogota at 9.20am, so be sure to get there on time. Transversal 10 No. 110 - 08 http://www.turistren.com.co
